Weekend Garden
Small notes from a small garden.
Late autumn
The last tomatoes came in green and are ripening on the windowsill. Garlic went into the raised bed by the fence, about ten centimetres deep, with a thin layer of straw on top.
Leaves
Fallen leaves are the cheapest compost there is. A wire ring, a few buckets of water, and by spring the bottom half is dark and crumbly.
Seeds to save
Beans, dill and marigolds are the easiest. Dry them on paper for two weeks, then into envelopes with the name and the year.
